2012 XFR Cluster Flickering
I do cluster repairs, swaps, mileage correction etc.
Any who did a cluster correction for a customer tested first everything was good car starts etc.
Any who i done some programming reinstalled and everything still works as should but seatbelt, check engine light etc flicker when you turn car on, after you start they all go off as should but flicker before they do so.
Im thinking a ground issue does anyone have any ideas or a schematic so i can run a few new grounds?

Not off the top of my head but dim displays are usually repairable just reflow board, connections clean board etc.
my issue is fixed I washed the board and problem gone it was a hot day maybe a drop of sweat found itself in circuit board anyway all good now!
Look for a local cluster repair that has experience in euro cars with a good reputation or a good electronics repair guy.
If you go the electronics repair route remove cluster not to hard but disconnect battery first and be carefull removing rear connectors on cluster when you reinstall make sure connectors are seated fully!!!
Then just tell repair guy you want board reflowed check connections ribbon cables etc and clean board in alcohol shouldn't be more than a bill

hey ascrap thanks for the response
I already have a used cluster pulled from a new-ish XF ready to go. Most likely I'd be looking to swap over just the IC chip (which another forum member already identified) with the odo and authentication info.
Also, are you familiar with how odo readings work? My XF has a 4% speed error due to the larger tire profile and consequent change in wheel speed sensor readings. I'm wondering if this 4% error translates over to the odo as well.

All odometers are set to show a higher speed from the factory therefore mileage is off, its somekind of government BS anyway there was a lady that knew this and took her car in for warranty work after it passed the warranty mileage lets say 60K for sake of an argument and her car had like 61K or something they refused to do the work so she took them to court with the claim that odometers are not 100% accurate and show a higher mileage than actual and guess what she won, its hard to think about all the people over the years that had engines blown or any other major repair that dont know this and when they go to the dealer they get the royal shaft, its not theft or illegal if its on paper in fine print. So if its just 3-4% dont worry most times you need IDS for programing like that anyway. I wouldnt worry if it really worrys you just rollback a few percent in the future, technicaly it aint illegal just dont mention it.

LOL - Thanks for the input. I figure it's just better to have a 4% error anyways - less speeding, and faster maintenance. haha
Didn't know about the lawsuit but that's interesting that she won the case. I'm well out of warranty period so the only person I'd be screwing over is the next guy.
With 140k in the motor, I think this one is going to have to be a keeper - then timing chain down the line (maybe at 200k?)
What kind of car do you drive btw?
