Default 2013 XF 2.0 what am I getting into?

I posted this in the wrong group earlier. I have
an opportunity to purchase a 2013 XF 2.0T with 29,000 miles and a single owner. For the low price is 12k What reliability issues am I looking at if I purchase this vehicle?

>What reliability issues am I looking at
That's a pretty good question. I don't think that we've heard from many turbo-4 XF owners.
Most reported problems are with the supercharged engines (i.e., cam chains on 5.0s, cooling system problems on both 5.0s and 3.0s).
With a non-super 4 cylinder that car should not experience either of those problems.
Otherwise these are pretty reliable cars.
Suggest you wonder over to the XE list and ask about engine problems. There are many more 4 cylinder cars there.

But a big warning, you may be very disappointed with the performance of an XF with only 4 cylinders at the ready.

Just say'n...

I have this exact car. I bought it for a daily driver because of the mileage and got it for a deal. The resale value is garbo, but it looks cool, interior is ok. I absolutely loved it until this clown hit me head on and it went through a 20k front end repair. Nothing but issues since, but I think that's with any car. I would DEFINITLEY get some kind of warranty on it though. Our local Jag dealer wants 1200 up front to even pull it into the shop.

I can't stop laughing at the thought of $12,000 being a "low price" for the unwanted from the start 2 liter 4 banger engine hopelessly mismatched to this car. It is actually pretty much exactly double what it is worth.

I do not recommend this engine. It has good performance for a small capacity, but sounds ugly and uses a lot of fuel. I had such a car but I sold it after six months. It turned out that with the mileage of 80 thousand. km. one piston fired. And the engine had to be repaired. In Europe, I have encountered a few more such cases. Now I have 5.0 N / a. It smokes more but I know what I'm paying for.

Sorry to hear your 5.0L smokes?
My SC 5.0L model uses zero oil. Even when racing.
But I only have 43K miles on it.

Any idea why? Jaguar has way too long recommended oil change intervals. I change mine at 7500 miles or less. Synthetic oil only.

My 5.0 uses zero oil too. Smokes - fuel consumption. Google translate
