Default 2013 XF 3.0 plastic tubes from water pump

Hi Everyone.
I have a 2013 XF 3.0 AWD with 70,000 miles on it. There is a slight coolant leak, and my mechanic says it is the plastic tubes that run from the water pump and under the supercharger. Apparently this is a know issue for the car and the tubes are on back order and about $130 but the installation is the expensive part because the supercharger will have to be removed to get to the job site.

My questions are:
1. Is this indeed a know issue and does it all makes sense the way it is described to me?
2. If so, is there a better part than the "know issue" OEM which common sense says I'll be in the same place in another 70,000 odd miles?

If you have suggestions here, links would also be much appreciated.

Thank you

I had to replace mine due to higher coolant pressure from my pulley and tune. It has help up so far. No other way to get around replacing it wth the same one. MY previous 2011 XFS had aluminium crossover pipes instead of the plastic crossover pipes. Unortunately, the connections for the aluminium pipes wont fit into newer models, so...yes..you are stuck replacing them with plastic. But the crossover pipe is only like $40 not $130. I would do it myself. YOu are going to spend what...$1400?

Not sure why a pulley for your SC has anything to do with the water pump??
Cooling system pressure comes from heating up the coolant NOT from the water pump?
Think about it for a minute? You still have cooling system pressure AFTER you turn off the engine. Why??

Tell me when did I mention the water pump? and...does your water pump spin in some magical way not related to engine RPM? and is heat not generated at a much higher rate due to increased boost? My coolant temps were running at 175-180 F before my pulley upgrades. After they ran into the 215-220 F range during the summer. The added heat and increased pressure directly related to it caused my issue. Do engines not produce heat in your world?...lol...I am running anywhere between 20-23 psi worth of boost at WOT...Up from 14-16 psi stock. I guess what the point of this thread is trying to make is that the aluminium pipes from the older XF engines were so much better for power-ading applications because they did not fail under increased preassures. These sonic welded POS pipes that are in the XF line now totally suck fat D(*K. I have replaced two already. I will probably replace them again. So yeah. thats WHY!

Well sorry but you said "higher coolant pressure from my pulley and tune".

Nether the pulley or the tune have anything to do with cooling pressure?
What did I misunderstand?
