Default Aftermarket Front Pads don't fit

Tiried several (Brmebo carquest) and the backing "ears" are not machined well and will not fit in the gooves in the caliper. The backing plate is also thicker on the aftermarket and the cuts are more "rounded" Anyone else have similar issues? I am thinking to get the cheapest set ever and see if they fit better

Apart from the obvious of taking them back to the seller for a refund, if you really want to proceed with the pads you have bought, clamp each pad in a vice back-to-back with one of your originals and use a file to dress the ears to the correct profile. Or, yeah, buy pads that fit.

Yeah, I hear you mr obvious, so yes, that is the question, Beside the Jag OE (orginal jag) for 300+ bucks that I do not want to pay for a 11 year old car has anyone gotten a pair to fit>

I just may do what you suggest, I will let you know how it goes, I was thinking the same thing but until you recommended and told me how to do it I was thinking it was maybe unsafe. Glad yhou are saying it is not. Thanks for that...

Which front brakes do you have, the 355 mm (single piston) or the 380 mm (dual piston)?
I have replaced the 380 mm brake pads three times now across my XFR and F-Type and had zero problems with fit, and I have never heard of anyone else having problems. They are a unique shape and design with AFAIK no variation.
However with the 355 mm pads there are two versions with different shaped backing plates and they are not interchangeable.
I know because the first set I got from Rock Auto back in 2013 or 2014 (for my 2010 XFS) did not fit in just the way you describe so I sent them back and got the other version which fitted perfectly. Fairly sure they were the 171241.
If you have the 355 mm brakes then I suggest you give Rock Auto a try, I have found over the years they are the cheapest by miles and they have a yuge range.
Back then I got Powerstop Evolution Z17 and to this day they are the best brake pads I have ever used, pity they don't make them for the 380 mm brakes.

I have Powerstop Evolution Z23 on my 2012 XF 5.0NA with 355mm, single piston front brakes and they fit fine.

I have the 3.0 AWD so it has the 355, but not dual piston. I tried maultiple aftermarket. It seems as though it could be an issue with the bracket. Gonna grind it down a bit. Should work fine
