Default Aftermarket TPMS sensor?

Is it okay to use tpms aftermarket part for my jaguar 2010 xf? If yes, can someone recommend a brand?

I have found them unreliable. Some work, some give intermittent faults which are very irritating. So I'd suggest using jag oem ones

Hi BritCars,

Have you tried the one from Rock Auto like the poster above mentioned?

I got fault messages on aftermarket TPMS until the tire shop replaced them with Jaguar TPMS. He said he has more trouble with Jaguar and Land Rover than with any other make. Stick with OEM and get them at a discount.

I used VDO ones (not sure where I bought them). Worked fine for a bit then intermittent errors. Jag said it's a constant source of customer complaints and recommended replacement with OEM ones. Been perfect since.
You can often find new oem ones on eBay for a lot less than dealer prices.

They are expensive even with a discount. I get my OEM parts from www.jaguarparts.com.

Are the VDO's from Rock Auto? Have you tried Rock Auto TPMS sensors? They're like $20.

Ntb and discount break sensors and replace them with aftermarket telling customers theyll be fine. Theyre not. We always end up replacing with oem and sending customer back to tire stores for a refund. Funny we hardly ever break a tpms sensor i dont know how a tire store that does tires all day breaks so many, careless i guess

Yes the ones from Rock auto are VDO. Siemens VDO are the original supplier to FoMoCo. Buying from rock auto pretty much guarantees they got them directly from VDO. Now whether mine will stop working at some time I do not know.

I also am using all 4 in a matched set on my Summer tires ( now in storage. ) I know other cars that have had issues if they replace one tire with new because of a fault and each do not have the same signal (strength, battery power whatnot)

I don't remember where I got them - don't think it was rock auto. I used aftermarket ones once and was burned - cost of unmounting and remounting all the tires to fit oem ones made the whole episode a waste. So I've stuck with oem since then!
