Hi all

2010 MY XFR and with the increasing WTF quota of Texan drivers I figured it was time to dashcam up. Got a model that also has the parking mode but for that it needs a continuous feed. All the fuses I have so far found in the passenger side fuse box which are live with the ignition "off" shut down once the car is locked.

Which means leaving the car unlocked for parking mode dashcam is a little silly....

Anybody figured this one out ? It's quite hard to lock yourself in the car and test the fuses in the tiny out of the way compartment down there ;-)

It's not the end of the world if there is no always on feed there but it would be nice....

I just wired up a BlackSys CH100B and it seems to be working fine for the past 4 days.

I used:
F23 (5 amp) for switched power (seat, audio, console)
F28 (15 amp) for constant power (auxiliary power)

 

I have my radar detector in F28 and I'm pretty sure that goes dead when you lock the car....

I'll have to retrace my steps, I may have given you the wrong one. I'll check when I get home.

 

Worst case, just wire it to the power that feeds the fuse box in the passenger foot well. It's the big red wire that is bolted to the top of the fuse box.

 

Now why didn't I think of that instead of going all fancy with a fuse tap ;-)

 

F20 is the remote receiver, I would assume that's always on.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow and report back.

 

I relocated my fuse tap to #20 for the always live feed and it seems to be working - thanks for the suggestion :-)
