2013 Jaguar XF, AWD, 3L V6 SC

BATTERY NOT CHARGING message, but it was - because it didn't break down, as I drove the remaining 40-minutes of my trip. Then restarted strong - no problem.

It happened a couple more times over the next 3-4 weeks. After searching the forum, I decided to replace my (several years old) main battery. Notified the software that the battery had been replaced.

Ran fine for about (3) weeks, but the message popped up again. Same thing - was able to drive the remaining 30 minutes of my trip. Then it started strong - no problem. Do you know if the small (secondary) battery could trip this message too? Should I replace my secondary battery, or should I move on to my alternator? Or take it somewhere, where they can troubleshoot my electrical & ground wires?

Any advice would be appreciated, as to the appropriate troubleshooting steps.

Put a voltmeter across the battery & take a reading with the engine off & with the engine running.
