Best brake pad combo for 09 XF Non-S/C (4.2 V8)
I'm looking at changing the brake pads on my 09 Non S/C and am having a tough time figuring out what's the best brake pad combo to use.
I was thinking of using the Akebono ceramics in the rear but can't find a similar akebono ceramic front application. I can go with an OE spec semi-metallic in the front but am not sure if it's a bad idea to mix pad material types.
Other options would include EBC reds all around or just use OE spec semi metallics all around.
Looking for a bit of guidance from the group as to what the best pad combination would be. It's just for city/hwy driving. Thanks.

I would recommend ceramic pads over semi metallic. The EBC Red Stuff pads are popular. I've used pads from Brake Labs with excellent results on my XF SC. Please review this link in the XF Forum "How to Section":
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...job-how-85582/. There is more information regarding the ceramic brake pad.
While the XF SC and XFR brakes are much larger than the standard brakes there are similarities.

Let us know how you like them and the part numbers for your car. That maybe helpful to someone else
Not a problem. Ill report back once they are installed. For reference,
Rear - PSB 16-1095
Front - PSB 16-1241
Both numbers are rock auto part numbers but the numeric component is standard across resellers I believe.
I have an 09 XF Premium Luxury 4.2L V8

I live in Canada as well and looking to replace the pads soon.
Would love an update or recommendations on the route to take.

EBC Red Stuff Kevlar Ceramic pads. Good when cold, fabulous when hot, practically no dust.
If you don't ever drive the car hard and best possible cold braking is more important to you EBC Yellow Stuff. But yellow stuff is an organic pad and tends to be dustier.
Either will give you more braking performance than stock because of their higher frictional co-efficients.

I'm down by Locke and Aberdeen.
Shoot me a PM with your number if you'd like. It would be good to have a Jag meet in the area as I'm not aware of any that currently exist.

I would like to know some feed back on the pads and rotors. I want to order today or monday.
YOu can text me or phone...thanks
I have the Power Stop ceramics on my 10 XF 5.0
I like them. The OE pads covered the wheels with dust and stopped well. These, once warmed up a tad, stop a bit better and simply do not dust.
I'm pleased with them and I drive like a maniac.
