Car won't start - P0193
Hi Guys, I have a 2009 XF Premium Luxury. About 5 month ago, my check engine light came on and the car was diagnosed with a P0193. At the time, my mechanic cleaned the MAF and replaced the Fuel rail pressure sensor, cleared the codes and I was good to go. About 3 months later, (not many miles) P0193 came back again. This time I did some so debug. I checked that the connector was good and that voltage (5v) and ground was good. I replaced the sensor and that appeared to fixed it. On Saturday, the code came back. On Sunday morning, the car wouldn't. start ... the engine just continually cranks. I tried pumping the accelerator a few times and once it almost started but quickly died. I changed the fuel filter but that didn't make any difference. After cranking I can smell fuel. So I'm assuming that my fuel pump is good
It would seem unlikely that I have had two sensors go bad. Incidentally, when I removed the vacuum line from the sensor, a small amount of fuel leaked out. Is this normal?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Tom

Do you have any pressure at the fuel rail?
Cycle the key on and off several times before cranking. Does it start any better?
I think this is pointing to a fuel pump problem?
I had the exact same code on my old 2005 STR which had the 4.2L V-8. I "think" you do too but it was not listed so I am guessing?
But replacing the fuel pressure sensor which is mounted on the engine did fix my code for good.
