i have a 09 FX L which came with 1 cd player, i bought a 6 cd changer and wanted to install it in the car, cables are all the same and it fits in the carpartment, the only problem when is in place and power is turn on the cd player take the cd but does not play or eject the 1ft cd. my question is must the soft ware in the system be up graded to add the six cd player so that it reconize the 6cd player? can some one help me with this problem?

The audio installation on the XF comprises:

1. information and entertainment module (item 1)
2. audio interface (item 6)
3. audio connectivity module (item)

As soon as you see the word 'module' on a modern Jaguar, you can be almost certain there will be programming involved.

In this instance, the vehicle will probably have to go on dealer diagnostics (or an independent with similar level diagnostics) for it to recognise your new CD Player (provided it is compatible).
