I would love a long wheelbase XFR.

And give it the V8 SC AWD driveline of the F-Type.

What exactly is the point of this? Why not just make a super luxurious XJL?

It's for the Chinese market, different tastes and different priorities, whole new ballgame really.

the chinese LOVE their long wheelbase cars, but the price of an XJL is probably ridiculously high....so they make LWB cars of cheaper models

Yea, they have crazy taxes on import cars. It doubles the purchase price in some countries, and then they have all sorts of other taxes and fees.

So you may be a big enough China baller to hire a driver, but not enough to buy the a crazy expensive top-pf-the-line luxury car.

If you don't have an L in the badge, you haven't made the cut there.

Driving around in Shanghai you see lot's of "L" models that don't exist anywhere else in the world.

BMW 525iL
Audi A6L
etc...

Actually some of them don't even look like long wheel base vehicles, i'm sure they just stick the L badge on in order to keep up with the neighbours...
