Common prob, but nothing resolved yet, XF 3.0D 2009
Hi All,
I'm Harry and i've just signed up, although i've been browsing for many months before hand for your tips and tricks!
Recently i've developed the common issue where the screen goes blank and flashes the jaguar logo. I've done loads of reading here and on the US/Canada forums as well. I can see them guys over there have the common issue with the bluetooth boxes beneath the seat becoming damp and shorting out due to their weather conditions.
Moving on.. I went to an independent specialist at first, these novice individuals tried to fob me off with a new screen at the cost of £2000.00 inc labour , instead i got them to do a software update at the cost of £72.00 which i now doubt they even did that.
Further, I've had my Bluetooth box out and apart from it having a mild electrical burning smell, it was in very good condition. I'm pretty good with automotive work, therefore I've done basic tests of checking the connections and most importantly the fuses, all of which were good!
Therefore I've replaced the Bluetooth box, Screen unit itself and the Main CD changer/player box.All parts were sourced used with 30-day guarantee, from reputable breakers. All these have not made any difference and i'm now running out of patience.
Can anyone shine some light, on to how to further diagnose this issue. It now throws me in the direct of a wiring issue somewhere and i have no experience of dealing with fibre optic wiring.
Hope to hear from you guy's soon!
