When bleeding the air from the system following a thermostat change I sheared the plastic bleed screw on the coolant tank, Jag dealership told me they do not sell the screw alone, only the tank assembly. At $226+tax this is too much when I only need the screw.
Does this part match the part from another manufacturer? I wouldnt have thought the screw would be such an unusual size that it couldnt be found elsewhere?

Same thing happened to me. I went to the hardware store bought a stainless bolt with same thread pitch and a small o ring. Works great now
Thanks but your picture is the 4.2L engine and I was talking about the later 5.0L engines.
But the one I linked to up thread is the correct one for the later 3.0 and 5.0 engines. It does NOT fit the 4.2L engines.
Unfortunately as posted above if you have that engine Jaguar requires you to buy the entire top reservoir tank to get the bleed screw.
