Exact same problem on my 2010 XFR. I've heard that some dealers will do a goodwill replacement if you are out of your warranty period. Mine did not. Fortunately, I have an extended warranty. Unfortunately, I also have a $300 deductible.
So I had my circuit board replaced last week. Total cost was $537 ($300 of which I paid for myself). Like throwing money out the window honestly because I almost never use that light and it would have been cheaper to just remove the bulb and not worry about it.

I have the same problem with my 2010 XF Premium. Good to know there is a TSB.

TSB is a service bulletin, I'm not sure if it requires the dealer to fix free of charge regardless of warranty status, but it definitely states how to fix the issue. My dealer fixed mines because it was a problem while in warranty that was NOT properly fixed the first time I brung in the vehicle. They tried to act like it wasnt there problem anymore because my warranty expired but I was persistent. It's a known issue and it should have been a recall on it. I would check that service bullentin though for the details because there are some things that they are required to fix even outside of warranty and this may be one of them.

It is most definitely a safety issue. When the light starts flashing on and off at night, it blinds you and you can't see for several seconds.

The first time someone gets into an accident due to a flashing dome light, Jag will get sued.

I found mine flashed most of the time when I had the windows down or the AC vents pointed up to the ceiling.

It was pretty annoying and maybe a bit distracting, but I wouldn't say the light was blinding or anything. Maybe your bulbs are a lot brighter than mine, I guess.

My dealership wanted a grand to replace the overhead console and told me there was no other way they could fix it, so I just removed the bulb. Spending all that money on one light that I don't even intend to use was out of the question for me.

Its unfortunate but your dealership obviously lied to you.

You can purchase a new overhead console at jaguarparts.com for around $300-350 depending what options your console has (sunblind, front parking sensor). I'd imagine it can't be that difficult to pop the old one out and plug the new one in. Others on the forum have popped it out to wire up radar detectors.
