Default Why not available on XF??

quite stupid that:
1) no power folding side mirrors on XF (available on even the lowly LR Evoque)
2) blind spot monitoring not standard on a $60K+ European car !!
3) smallish fuel tank for such a large car (even smaller than the F-Type)
4) Rear sunshade blind not included in any package - stand alone option hard to find

I have #2 and #4 on my XFR...and I paid much less than $60k for it.

#1 is pointless IMO for a sedan, more relevant for big, wide trucks or SUVs. #3 is what it is, I don't take this car on our long road trips....my wife's Elantra has a tiny fuel tank as well but we get almost 40mpg in it.

I also have #2 and #4 on my 2011 XF S/C. But won't have on my next XF AWD with Premium and Portfolio packages! which stickers at over $64K.
#1 not pointless if getting in/out of your garage is challenging, or parking on narrow neighborhood streets with heavy commercial traffic like around NYC, or other big US cities for instance.
#3 does not have to be 'what it is'. This car is also a great comfortable, quiet, highway cruiser. Smaller cars have 21+gal. tank.

Have 2 and 4. Care less about 1. I don't think an 18 gallon tank is that small. My F-150 ecoboost has a 26 gallon tank. While these are legitimate concerns none of these would deter me from having an XF.

You know I think I've used the rear sunshade/blind once. Power folding mirrors would be nice but again I doubt they'd get much use(though I think the European spec XF has them). What I don't like is how they redid the packaging. When the XF first came out it came standard with navigation. Now it's part of a $4,000 package. But I'm guessing they don't feel like adding some features to a car that is at the end of its cycle. I think rear folding seats should be standard.

5. No ground splash lights.
I wish I had the folding mirrors as well.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Winter Package doesn't have heated mirrors, but the Convenience Package does.

I think for 2014 at least, heated mirrors are standard. Also, there is no convenience package in 2014, as far as I can see on the Jag web site

Hmm, that is weird about the convenience package. I wonder if the features in that package were absorbed into other packages?

The only thing I want, but I want it bad, is a better/more extendable sun shade. My Lexus sunshade could extend to cover the whole area where the sun was baking my face and the XF without that is too small to block the sun on my daily commute.

The 18 gallon tank is a big fat joke. I can only get 300 miles per tank going downhill with a tail wind. I love the XFR, but the range is annoying. If it's your daily driver, you're at the gas station every other day. It's the only car that I have ever owned that I ran out of gas in. Twice! Annoying.
