Tell them NOT to wash your car, make them write it in the invoice and put up "do not wash" signs. Don't be another victim

Ask them to check the water pump for seeping / leakage or any coolant splatter nearby

If you have removed the stupid license plate surround advertising they add when you buy a car, tell them not to put them on again.

Drives me nuts when they do that when in for service. Put ugly advertising on my beautiful car?? The worst of it was that last time they took my stainless hardware and replaced with the "rust in 3 days" versions.

I looked at all the cars in for service and they were dripping rust on the plates. I said the the manager if you are going to mess with people's plates at least put a Jaguar worthy fastener on!

Rant over.

Personally, I'd be a HUGE +1 on this.

I've seen what the dealership "valeters" do and how they wash a car......not for me thanks!

I usually tell the service reception to make sure they DO NOT wash my car, its always clean when it goes in anyway.

I usually back this up with perhaps 2 sheets of A4 with "DO NOT WASH" in big bold letters, one on the drivers seat and one on the passenger seat.

First service went well. They hand washed the car and did not add a stupid dealer license plate frame.

Thanks

Usually its a FREE wash as part of the service.

I've saw the valeters that my dealership uses. I watched one using a mitt or similar that looked as if it had been used to clean wheels etc, dipped into the bucket and applied to the car.

If this was not bad enough, he dropped it, picked it up and shook it, then proceeded to carry on washing the vehicle.

This was a NEW £40k Audi!!

Get too close with the powerwash on the chips on your bumper and lift the lacquer and much more.......

Each to their own but not for me, thanks. That FREE wash could end up with you having really bad swirl marks in your paint and much worse and end up costing you penty

Some people are completely oblivious to this. They spend a huge amount of money on a car and don't even notice it's full of swirl marks, door dings and scratches.

To each his own.......................
