Front Parking Aids
Hi all just wondering how difficult it would be to fit front parking sensors to my XF.
It may be easy to actually install them in the front bumper but just wondered how much work would be involved linking it through to the existing rear parking aid electrics on the sat nav screen.
Reason being yesterday I parked up in front of a store at my local retail park and very carefully eased forward towards the bollards. When I came out I noticed my front bumper was pressed up against one of the bollards(never felt a thing) on the near side and when I reversed there was a slight depression in the bumper.I felt totally sick. When I arrived home and looked again fortunately the depression was amazingly not there and I breathed a sigh of relief and I managed to remove the slight amount of blue paint from the
bumper.
Hence that was one of my 9 lives so thinking about the parking aid option.
I would appreciate any feedback.

I dont know about connecting it to the existing system (I'd ask Jag if it can be done) but I just had front and back sensors put on my daughter's car, they cost $400 each end and they look OEM because they are painted to colour match.
I do wish all members would put MODEL and YEAR details in their forum Signatures!
The specifics depend on body style and VIN range but, if you already have the Rear Parking Aid fitted, it will require a set of front sensors fitting and having the Control Module replaced with a Front/Rear Module. This has to be activated through Jaguar SDD (System Driven Diagnostics) at your dealer or independent with the same level of diagnostics.

If he doesn't have front sensors, it's a good chance that he has the I4 model. But like what was said, it should be a pretty easy fix. change the bumper, and maybe change a module. It might be expensive since you will have to go through Jaguar, but it shouldn't be difficult.
