Default Hazard Lights, Trunk and Alarm Freakout

2012 XF SC was getting all weird on me today. I'd park, power off and step out to lock it. Car would respond with the can't lock chirp and soon after the trunk would pop open. I'd go shut it. Then the hazard lights would be showing as active in the interior, but the exterior lights would be off and not in hazard mode. Then the trunk would pop open again and the alarm would go off. Turning the car on and off a few times eventually calmed the panicked beast. This happened on 3 occasions today with slight variations of craziness each time. Heading to service asap, but any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

All sorts of strange things can happen when the battery is on its way out. Get that checked out.

Will do. I bought it preowned from a Jag dealership in March. Wasn't CPO, but still under plat warranty. Don't think it's related, but I've been getting an intermittent low break pad warnings for about a week now. Anyhow, like you said, time to get that checked out. Thx

Any chance a key fob is in the trunk? My wife put her purse in the trunk with a fob in it and trunk wouldn't close. Doesn't sound like that problem but trunk popping open is similar.

Double checked, no key in there.

If it's the factory battery I would not even check it out. You got your warning! Replace it now.

Dealership has it, ended up driving there with hazards on that wouldn't shut off. Initial response was, haven't seen something quite like this yet. I'm sure they'll take car of it. Post the results later.

At least the dealer is seeing the crazy goings on. I hate intermittent issues.

Got the car back from them. They replaced the hazard switch pack. Car was fine for a night. Next day the truck was stuck. Couldn't use the remote to lock the car. Took it back, they are getting a new trunk latch for it. Not sure why they didn't discover that the first time. Hopefully I don't have to do the service dance again, hate that as much as intermittent issues.
