Jaguar Xf - No ignition/smaet key error after attempting dashcam install
It helped to become very scared that the car could sit on the street for couple of months
My today's experiments did not do much- I tried to select the procedure from Extras:
Configure existing module- Central junction box (body control module)
Then at some point the SDD asks to activate network connection and gives opportunity to select the download procedure from/to USB stick.
I did not have USB stick, choose random folder from C:\
After this nothing happens, it again asks to choose usb stick.
Am I doing everything correct? Maybe I need some files? or just attach the USB stick?
Thanks,

Hello,
Some advancement- I have managed to get the needed BCM VBF files from SDD 138 and use them in SDD160.
Now the SDD says I have to update the KVM module (Keyless entry) first because it has too old software in it.
Tried to reprogram the KVM but I am missing the DPLA-14C104-CB.VBF file (I am using the cracked SDD and cannot connect to internet for the SDD to automatically download it).
Can anybody help me and send me the needed file?
Thanks,

Be VERY careful here!!! Are you sure you have everything setup right? Do you have a good and stout power supply? NOT a battery charger? Is the battery symbol in SDD green? What cable are you using?
Can't help about it asking for a USB stick as I run V160.XXX and download thousands of files as I only use that laptop for SDD. My SDD is cracked as well but I can connect and download from JLR for the last several years with no problems.
I answered your private message and I did search and yes I do have that file. BUT nothing in this forum will handle that file extension so I am stuck on how to get a copy to you?
Please check your PM inbox!

PS; See attached. Now rename the file extension back to .vbf and you should be good to go.
Post back if it works?

Dear clubairth1,
Thank you! It worked, but at the next step SDD tried to search for a different file and again stopped because I did not have it.
Being very upset and without any hope I have decided to connect the computer to the internet and it worked!
Thank you for the suggestion! I have read in several post that you should not connect the SDD to the internet as it will damage something so tried to work offline and was very scared to do this, but apparently the crack does its job and allows the connection.
So after updating several modules and doing the "Immobilization" task the car is back to the state it was before
Thanks again, clubairth1, you are my hero

Well you are VERY welcome my friend!! Really glad to hear the car is up and running like before.
Sometimes we just get lucky.
Yes I am in the same boat! I also was told DO NOT connect to the internet. BUT I have for over 3 years now and I have spent dozens of hours downloading apparently thousands of files which I have no idea if I need or not??
I think the difference is what crack you have because I was also told to use software such as "Deep Freeze" to reset the machine to a certain date everytime it boots up but I never could get that software to work so I just got rid of it!
Deep Freeze
So congratulations BUT now you are an SDD expert and must help others get to your advanced state of knowledge!

Jaguar XF remote lock/key not recognised issues.
I've been getting many requests from the group via word of mouth and I've done quite a few.
Issue one most common:
Car won't lock after battery disconnect. This is solved via immobilisation in SDD.
Issue two less common:
Key not recognised at all hence no ignition, immobilisation not possible.
This is done via cluster reprogram as it will bypass the key sequence, turns ignition itself and do the immobilisation at the end.
This will also update cluster to latest software, bonus.
Please don't throw suitcases of money on KVM module/keys and what not, I've never seen a faulty KVM module.

As noted above there are at least two different problems intertwined here. You need to give us more details and do you understand what John Williams posted?
What EXACTLY is your car doing and what ERROR codes do you have?
Next do you know what SDD is and can you get access to a working SDD setup?

Scenario number 2, no ignition
I am stuck in a similar problem, I have SDD. Can I contact you on Skype?
Hi all,
Just curious if anyone can offer any advice before it goes to a garage. AA were unable to locate any issue which would cause it.
I tried to install a dashcam in my 2014 Jaguar Xf yesterday using interior fuses nr 19 and 36 to draw power from. That is sunroof (not a sunroof model) and steering colum adjust.
Car now won't start. Have disconnected the additional two wires, and still no luck. The key fob won't lock/unlock the car, only the light button on the fob works to activate front/rear.
The fob isn't picked up by the car, it says to reposition when atempting to start the car. If I hold the fob to the sensor under the steering column it says Keyless start backup error: refer to handbook.
There is nothing in the handbook I can find to remedy this error.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Battery is fine, have checked majority of fuses and they are also fine.
Model: 2014 Jaguar Xf 2.2d
