Great video Buddy.
Could you please try the following:
1) press the parking aid button on your car when moving forward slowly, without going into reverse first. Check if the front sensors beep.

2) please activate heated steering see if it shows up in the AC menu.

Unfortunately parking sensor doesn't beep in front, but it works graphically.

Steering wheel icon comes up when selecting XK

Looking good, they seem to have ironed out the problems.
There seems to be 5 different units depending on the display screen you choose. Not sure of the differences, which one did you install?

Thanks for testing unfortunately the bugs still remain.
The older unit also showed up the heated steering icon when selecting XK.

The warning and error messages seems to have disappeared too, have you tried testing it parked, without the engine running you should get, the low battery warning, turn off within 3 minutes message.

I did an alternative install leaving the OEM functions untouched.

So far it's been working perfectly.

There are two types: 1) Tesla style and 2) 2DIN style.

In both there is performance differences. I bought the most epxensive one with 8GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory.

The cheaper ones have 6 and 4 GB RAM and 64 and 32 GB internal memory.

What was the alternative?
I don't think, an alternative exists for pre facelift 2010 cars with the older head units.

Anyway, for me the two main things have been fixed, the microphone and the clock behind the steering wheel.
That's enough for me.

I contacted the seller, reporting the bugs.
Maybe they will do something (I don't think so)

Definitely interested in doing this but when I see things like the auto vents don’t work correctly or front sensors aren’t making any sounds it makes me want to wait. The question is when they will actually fix those issues.

They won't probably.
They are interested only in sales.
After sale support is not their strong suit.
If those things are so important to you, then stay with the original system, which is way way way worse than this in my opinion.

Agree, the OEM system sucks, but what put me down form this is the warning messages, vents not working correctly and no front beeping is minor issues, ohh forgot to mention does your off button on the spear ornament work?.

I did a custom install on the lower part keeping the original system, it's simple its connected to the OEM aux and powered form the aux socket.

I know you said, I don't have to, but I have to
I can't not to. My upbringing prevents it

I can open the link just fine.
I think, I already said somewhere that I bought the most expensive one that costs € 648,69 now, but at that time it was €790 or so with 128GB RAM and 256GB internal memory, but I paid only €590 due to some coupons and such. No clue why I paid that price.

You don't burst anything. I am just trying to help. If you need to be rude, well...
Use a desktop computer, not degenerate mobile devices (sorry, I hate them), disable ad blockers and enable stuff. That link is of course not the whole link. It will redirect to the real page which is generated dynamically with all kind of tokens and whatnot.

Why do you think that was rude?

From Urban Dictionary.....

"To burst someone's bubble is to reveal something to them that they were unaware or ignorant of, often in the form of bad news."

Ok guys, do not buy this one. Internet is a catastrophy with this.

I assume, it tries to conenct to the chinese mobile network even if you disable the chinese virtual SIM slot.

It worked for a while but now my 4G network never works. Sometimes it comes to life for a few seconds or sometimes even minutes, but then it's dead again.

I will try to put back the previous Android device with the newer Can Bus Module and see what happens.

EDIT:
Maybe this is the solution?
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...5/#post2509203

I will try.

EDIT 2: That was a different problem :-(

It turns out that the device sold as Android 11 is actually some hacked Android 6 system.

Did the old unit work with the new canbus decoder?
After updating mine to the 8" unit I now have two of the ones you have, 1 with the canbus decoder that is stuck in Chineese and one with V3 where the clock doesn't change.

The new can bus is working perfectly with the old head unit, yes.

I have no problem witch clock or anything else, beside the remaining problem with the microphone and the parking sound not beeping in the fromt.
