Question Lost keys, ordered fob from Amazon, next steps?

Hi,
I lost my only key fob for my 2012 Jaguar XF V-8. I ordered this from Amazon:
key fob key fob
Next is to ??? Can I program it myself? I need the new spare key cut, but from what source? I heard getting it programmed at dealer is mad money $$$.

Thanks in advance,
George C. in Phoenix, AZ

Check this out might help(https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ramming-56187/) its a forum about it already. plus guides in pdf as to how. Make sure to match your year and model correctly. I'm from Tucson so best of luck fellow Arizonian. Also be careful in doing this (if it was me Id just get it done with a key/locksmith (cheaper) or Jaguar themselves as you'd guarantee full function of lock and unlock without key not being your hand) I know youll need software as SDD something along those lines but be careful as you can brick your car doing it on your own not knowing what youre doing.

Yes back up th advice being given. I chose to go see an automotive specialist and got them to do it. They were great and the guy charged me a sensible price and I've had no problems

Hi,
Tucson? Nice. I saw the .,pdf link. Thanks for that. For the "X" version it says to put key in ignition, but I mean I have a push-to-start button on my Jaguar and no ignition hole for a key. Not sure if there's another thread or .pdf. I'll keep looking and probably call an automotive locksmith tomorrow just in case.

Thanks for responding. Actually, I just saw this video last night. This video requires an existing key fob to be present, so it doesn't apply to my situation.
My new key fob arrives today, so I'm going to try the program instructions .pdf that was given earlier in a thread response (if you scroll up).
Thanks

all good accidents happen, At least this car doesnt allow you to lock your keys inside of it like I did with my VW lmao. Enjoy the new key!

Thanks. Crazy. The keys were at Native Wings. The last possible place. I nearly lost it when they said they had the keys there.
Well, I do need to fix my coolant reservoir sensor/tank. It gives a continued "low coolant" warning, even though there's plenty of coolant in the reservoir. I'll get that done soon. Hope it is easy to fix.

Yeah bro had the same problem on my coolant reservoir. Dealership claimed it was just the sensor had it looked at by LRJ in Tucson they claimed you must change the reservoir and Coolant sensor at the same time as the coolant sensor is inside of the reservoir only a 350$ fix but some bs pulled by my dealership, maybe cheaper doing it yourself I can imagine. Best of luck though bud!

I saw your post about you finding your keys awesome but for future reference the "plug in/ignition" port is located by the trunk button underneath steering wheel to the left side since your an American car itll be to the left side.

Default 2013 Jaquar XF

The Jaquar Dealership in Dallas, Texas won't even try to help program my key fobs. If you find out how to program it please post.

I am really good at putting things down and forgetting I even put them down, much less where I put them. Apple AirTags have been a lifesaver. They go on all my keys, and lots of other stuff. No more lost keys for me.
