Mina exhaust question...
"Never mind...I searched the forum earlier with no relevant info on this subject. After posting this question several older threads popped up. I'm good now."
Mina Gallery states that their performance exhaust system for my 2013 XF 5.0 Supercharged "is only marginally louder then your original setup". Can anyone with a Mina system tell me if they notice the difference in the sound compared to the OEM setup and was the cost worth the swap? Also considering adding an X-pipe and intake tube. I am not really looking for more HP as the vehicle is plenty strong already. Would just like to hear more of that growl. If not Mina then what other options are there? I visited a local custom exhaust company and they suggested a Flowmaster system which is considerably less expensive but it was not a stainless system (which I would prefer).
Appreciate any feedback.
I have spoken with Chris at Mina and he has given me a discounted price. I just need to decide.

any aftermarket exhaust from mina, spires, and quicksilver will give you a DEEPER tone compared to stock, in terms of decibel readings, it will be a tiny bit louder. The main point for these aftermarket rear exhausts is the fact that it's always apparent! I drive an xfrs and my biggest gripe was that it felt too quiet for the majority of driving, only with moderate throttle was when i felt the exhaust sounded good.
These aftermarket exhaust will give you deeper exhaust notes at all times, while cruising, stopping at a light (you'll hear the rumble when eco start/stop is off), and definitely during acceleration. It makes it sound like your driving a v8 (never had that feeling with the stock exhaust)

No problem! Forgot to mention, i have an aftermarket x pipe and mufflers done by Spires UK with wider tips, it's loud and has the ford v8 burble when idling. The only problem with the xpipe with no resonators is the drone, the drone is between 1400 to 1700 rpm which basically incline driving. Could be remedied with free flow resonators at the x pipe without sacrificing performance but will sacrifice some sound.
performance wise, there will be some gains when switching from stock mid pipe to straight or x pipe.

I would recommend the Quicksilver setup as that's what was fitted as standard on the 50 XFR Le Mans special edition models that were built for the UK market in 2010. I have one and the sound is glorious, think Formula one AMG pace car sound, it's like that. No drone either, it's a great addition.

I have the Mina system on my 2010 XF 5.0 SC. Had it for about 6 yrs now. I love it. A lot louder than stock, much more burble and rumbles. But not obnoxious
No drone at all
But you know it's there!

I really wouldn't know what model they fitted as the Quicksilver system came on the car from the factory, it wasn't an option, just part of the special edition model. I would imagine if you contact the company they will give you the correct info'. I just had a look on their website and this is the one you would want; XFR 5.0 inc Sportbrake Sport Rear Sections 2009-15 JR306S.

Hello Les. I contacted a QuickSiver dealer in Dallas, Texas yesterday and after they looked into it they called me back. Said that the correct one would be the model 5.0 - JR480S as I thought. My vehicle is just an XF, not a XFR although it is Supercharged. They also told me that it would possibly be a couple hundred dollars USD to ship it to me. It sure seems a bit expensive to me.
It is about a three and a half hour one way trip to the Aston Martin dealer in Dallas from Tulsa so I am still deliberating about the purchase.
Thanks to everyone who has replied.

Your dealer in Dallas is reading from a catalog and does not know what he is reading. A 5.0L V-8 Supercharged is the same exact engine as the R model, and not at all the same as the non-supercharged V-8 like I have. You need the unit that fits the R model.
Les, you are probably correct - JR306S
Thanks a bunch.

Got a reply back from QuickSilver yesterday. I gave them my VIN# and they informed me that the correct system for my vehicle was JR480S. While it is true that the same engine is in the XFR there must be some difference in its exhaust design.
