Is my dashboard real leather?
The 2012 base XF. Im not sure if the dash is leather or vinyl; also, what parts of the car (aside from the seats) are leather? One last thing, does the portfolio use different leather? Thanks guys!
How do you know if it's leather or not? I assumed mine was and I've driven the base models and they all looked the same.
I put leather cleaner/conditioner on it last night. I figured I wouldn't want to put vinyl conditioner on leather.

The Portfolio will give you contrasting stitching with smooth grain leather.
Only the "luxury" trim is vinyl on North American cars. All other trim levels use real leather. If you have leather you will know it. The vinyl looks excellent and is very practical however the leather also feels luxurious to the hand which the vinyl definitely doesn't.
Since the Naughas have become extinct, I don't think they're made of Naugahyde anymore.

I just looked in the brochure, and it does indeed say "warm charcoal leather upper fascia" for the base XF. The portfolio uses the soft grain leather, so it will obviously feel more luxurious, but it appears as though the base 2012 does indeed use real leather for the dash. Unless, of course, Jag is not being totally honest. What do you guys think? Seems like an awful lot of leather for a pretty reasonably priced car! Is this new for 2012, or did the previous base models come with real leather dash as well?
