Default My first Jag!

Hey all!

Over the weekend I picked up a new 2012 XF Portfolio with the Sport package. I'm absolutely in love with this car. It's my first Jag (and luxury car, actually) and I couldn't be happier! I considered Audi, BMW, and Benz, before deciding I didn't want to be just another Audi, BMW, or Benz out there. You really do stand out in a Jag.

Here are some pics I've taken so far. Not the greatest, but I had to share

Suweeet!.....and nice arty pics to boot. Make sure you take off that terrible dealer plate frame. First thing I do when I pick up a car. :-) I paid good $ so why am I advertising for you?

I am a new owner as well and after owning BMW's and Audi's its a nice change. The BMW was a great driver's car but this car has more soul.

How do you like the updated navigation display? Could you post a video of it in action? Maybe showing you accessing different function, programming an address, etc?

The navigation seemed to be the only major complaint with the pre-facelifted cars and the new one is completely revised (HD based vs DVD based and it uses the XJ layout) but I have not seen it in action.

Nice! Congratulations on your 2012. I am looking to get my hands on one on the next few weeks as most dealers in Chicago say they should start getting them in next week. Did you go with Ebony or Midnight Black as far as exterior and what interior color combo did you choose? Would also be curious about the new HD-based navigation/entertainment center. I think I heard someone say it seemed slow. What's your take?

The new telematics is slow. I was really surprised that I felt that the older system was a little faster.

Seriously? Everything I've read says the exact opposite. How much imporved it is and how much faster it is compared to the old system. It's essentially the same system that's used in the XJ.

Default did you buy or lease?

Do you feel you got a good deal? Do you mind disclosing the facts of the deal for others' reference?

I'm looking for a portfolio with the sports package as well... your car looks amazing!

thanks

what exactly is sport pkg? is there any suspension changes. that's my only beef with mine (no adaptive suspension) is that it's not as planted to the pavement on fast twisties . But it is kinda cool to be able to toss the rear around when engaging dynamic mode and stomping the pedal while turning 90 degrees.

Default Dealer Plate

I find the dealer license plate frame is more of a west coast thing. On the east coast, dealers like to glue their names on the back of new cars with big, gaudy stickers or decals. I HATE this practice. I have scratched more than one new car trying to remove that stupid sticker! At least a dealer license plate frame is easily removed...

Just my "two cents"

Use a hairdryer and dental floss (or fishing line) to remove dealer name plaques or stickers.

In some jurisdictions in the past those stickers served as public notice that the dealer had a lien on the car. In my home jurisdiction that was repealed. Now they use license plate frames as advertising, I take mine off as soon as I get home from the dealer.
