My Engine Air filter Box has another molded air filter built in to the topof the Air Box peice? . How do you change replace or remove if it's not needed ?
I can't figure it out.
I own a 2015 (Newer Body style) Jaguar XF AWD 3.0 S/C
i cant seem to find any information on the inside top Air box Filter ...
thanks for your help !!! I want to change it with a new one or just remove if it's not needed.

How can I replace it ? What are my options becuase it's Extremely dirty and the dealership told me my car is starving for air. My Air fuel ratio is not correct due to this filter thing. They want to charge me 519$ for each I have two . .. what are my options please.. 🤔
maybe how can i clean it safely .. Eletrical cleaner less harmful, i feel break cleaner would damage it. I can high power vacuum it downward. ??

Surely they can be cleaned with brake cleaner (in a rattle can), a gentle scrub then a rinse?
If not sure just go to any half decent auto workshop and ask them about it, and they may be able to clean them on the spot for minimal charge.
PS - I suspect you have an X260 not an X250 and if so you may find better advice by posting in the X260 section.
So I was told if I remove it.. I will get a mass air flow code and emgine wont run right, it's also for emissions.. I need a new clean one and I found out you can't clean them .. anyone.. anyone have advice on how to buy new ones ? Thanks.

Who is giving you this advice?
Coz it sounds like BS to me.
I also can't see any way such a simple screen could be a "carbon filter" or have any effect on "emissions", to me it looks like the most it could/would do is filter out fairly large particles to prevent them from clogging the main filter.
The air flows through the replaceable filter, is cleaned then through the carbon filter.
Many vehicles have this emissions carbon filter built into the airbox for absorbing gas fumes that come back through the intake when the engine is shut off. It is nothing new or special.
As I posted before, it’s not available separately, it’s part of the upper airbox assembly. This will be expensive new through Jaguar. Your best bet is trying to source a used airbox.
That is of course if this is even your problem in the first place, which in my opinion is doubtful.

They are simply lying to you or just too stupid to know what it's for and if it's needed.
