Ok. Firslty hi to all . First post on this website, actually first post on any website!

I recently purchased a 58 plate Jaguar XFR in kynite blue (white leather), with all the toys and just love the car, so that I would join a forum where I am sure to find like minded people who also love the jag brand.

I am intersted in a few things if anyone can help. Firslty I an interested in replacing the tread plates (possibly with the ones that light up) and wondered if anyone had dones this and had a view of cost, and to be frank is it worth it! Secondly I am also interested in adding pedal covers, but look quite pricey from main dealer....any thoughts.

That's it for today I will try and post some pictures (if I can work out how to do this), and would welcome thoughts/comments/advice.

Kai

My dealer showed me the illuminated sills and I thought they looked tacky so passed. I also looked at the pedal covers and came to the conclusion that they looked great but would be slippery if your shoes were wet, so passed again.

I got the illuminated sills, I like them but the only thing that bothers me is that the sills are not completely covered when the door is closed. Can't remember how much it cost me. It will definately cost a bit more as an after delivery option. I would not personally go out of my way to add them after the build.
I'm not a fan of the pedal covers.

My wife purchased the illuminated side sill and the pedals for me as a birthday gift. I love how they look at night when the door is open. Only down side is that they don't have them for the back door sills as well. As far as the pedals go, they are eye candy. They look nice when you want to show off, They don't get slippery as I have had wet shoes and sneaks on them at different times. I also purchased a chrome plated dead man pedal to protect the carpet under the left foot, it matches the other two pedals...
It all depends on what you like, For me, I like unique...

Oh... I found the price they charged me for the illuminated sills. $345 installed by the dealer.

Great advice, thanks to all who have replied. Redjaguar I to like unique so might enquire as to price, and a dead man pedal, nice touch. Injapan appreciate you looking out your previous records.

Might try and add some pics over the weekend now I am geting the hang of this site.

Keep rock'n

Has anyone figured how to wire the illuminated
Tread plates to the blue accent lighting on the doors??

I would like the tread plates to stay on when the accent
lighting goes on at night, etc....

From what I understand they typically shut off
after the door closes.

^ If you did this the ywould also dim with the other lights using the dimmer switch. Nice oprion. Have any local shop wire then to the acent lights on the door or in the interior. The wires pass through the door boot so it should be very simple to wire up quickly.
