Default New piano black veneers installed.

After trying every vinyl wrap option and becoming disappointed with them, I had my wheel refinisher change my panels to piano black. I also did the control silver trim panel and the small piece under comsole lid for a single slope of black. Looks much more expensive now.
And that damn glove box button that never worked properly has been done away with on the blade and I moved a clean silver button just beside the glove box it's self.

Now, OCD kicks in with fingerprints and fine swirl marks in full sun. But my factory veneer had same issues so I'll learn how to buff it from time to time!! Lol.

Looks great! How much to change the panels?

I use Meguiar's PlastX to remove swirl marks and clean/shine my veneer panels, works a treat.

Well, my trim detailer that did it charged me 300 to refinish all the pieces. After he was done, he regretted not charging much more! He worked really hard on them and they are pretty much flawless. One rear door panel has a spot he couldn't get perfect but overall I'm thrilled with it.
Especially the switch surround. I never liked the cheap silver plastic and it made the switches seem less cheap too.

I have the piano black trim in my car which has the black leather interior. And I have to say that I love it. I searched for months to find the perfect car. And I think that I found it.

Looks great. I rotated the pictures for you.

I am a big fan of Piano Black veneers, my X-Type had factory Piano Black & I added a B&I kit to finish it off. The veneers in my XJR are also Piano Black but this time just vinyl-wrapped.

Agree that the vinyl can not reproduce the deep finish of the real thing.

The trim around the controls really finishes it off nicely.

Awesome job and change. Question: Where did you get the jag emblem on your shifter knob/wheel. Like it and want one for mine?

He lists these on eBay all the time. He has 2 cool ones - this one (black growler) and another wood grain one that's nice.

I believe this badge on my XF came from Mark Evrette on Facebook. I know he lists on ebay too.
I had the British Autowood piano black with the vintage growler at first. It required removing the existing aluminum disk, not quite easy! It always bothered me the growler wasn't the same as the new one. He sent a newer growler version but it was not as nice. More like a dull gray growler on the black.
This newest one is metal, chrome and black. And simply peel and stick, no removal of original disk required. and easily removed if needed, leaving original disk. He now has red as well. They are thin metal, I think cut from the replacement wheel centers caps.
I do know the first person to do one with the updated growler face will sell them! I'm sure British Autowood could do it with no problem!
