Smile Newbie asking about Retro fit folding mirrors on 2015 XF

Hi all,

I have just become the proud owner of an XF sport black edition 2015, Not really had much time to play with it yet but upon locking the car i noticed the mirrors didn't fold in and so did my Neighbor who was more than happy to point this out over the weekend!! As his Mercedes does! Anyway another story......

Now I have just come from a mazda 6 2011 sport which even had this feature and a lot more tbh ie auto dim mirror/blind spot assist and so on. i love the look of this car and especially the way it drives. but the mirror thing seems to be really bothering me (and others) more than it should. Just madness that a so called 'premium' brand doesn't have this as standard across the range!

Any way, I have been searching the net and cannot find any step by step guide on how to retro fit these. What I have read so far.
  • Yes they can be retro fitted.
  • Just need the mirrors with folding capabilities.
  • Painted cover can be swapped across to other mirrors
  • SDD or something like that needs to be programmed so option is displayed on screen.
  • Something to do with Key fob Transponder?
Has anybody here ever done this or knows of exact steps and approx costs? The issue I may have is when looking on ebay at mirrors you can never Quite see what condition they're in. also all the ones I have seen have the Chrome window trim attached where mine being the black edition has black surrounds. Can this be swapped also?

Any way looking forward to getting know some peoples and learning a few things along the way..

Kind Regards

Also found,

CCF needed for folding option, puddle lights and kirb-side reverse dipping

I also have the side reverse dipping due to the seat pack. Can Jaguar change the CCF to get these to work? Or is it best to try to butter up someone with SDD locally lol

Regards

Silly question, I assume you have checked that your car doesn't have folding mirrors but they are just not set to autofold? In my pre-facelift XF pressing both mirror buttons at the same time makes them fold in and out - does yours? Auto-folding on lock/unlock is a separate button hidden away in the menus in the car.

If not then your research is spot on SDD is the tool used for modifying the CCF. The CCF is the config file that tells the car what options are fitted, so it will need updating to tell the car the folding mirrors are there. If you are replacing your mirrors, I have just done a how-to on retrofitting blind spot assist...

In that case you're gonna be fitting new mirrors!

How-to for blind spot is here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...trofit-232724/

Jaguar can do CCF changes in SDD but almost always refuse to. The reason for this is that in order to change anything but the most basic options requires a code from JLR head office to activate engineering mode in the software and they have to provide justification etc...

I'd offer to do it for you but I'm FAAAAAR away from Kent lol

i have a set of folding mirrors with auto dimming mirrors as well as puddle lights , they are for sale on ebay , but would be willing to sell on here

to get this feature all you need to do is fit the mirror pods with folding function

your existing door mirror switches will operate them right away once the CCF has been updated ( even if they dont have the little printed folding signs ) ,

CCF needed for folding mirrors
CCF needed for dipping reverse mirror
CCF needed for puddle lights on the mirrors to work
CCF needed

auto dimming is fully operational with dimming rear view mirror connected , ( and associated wiring already being installed in roof lining )

BB

ps,i do all my own CCF work , and i fitted all the above with the blind spot monitoring feature as well, and removed the above mirrors from my own car
