Default Parking sensor and tpms issue

Just picked up a 2015 XF portfolio sport over the weekend. Bought the car privately. The tpms light is blinking during startup and then goes solid. I assumed the pressures were uneven or low, however I have checked all four tires and the pressures are all correct. After some further research it seems like the blinking part of the light indicates some sort of issue with the system. Anyway I can narrow this down myself?

The car also says parking aid system unavailable and to consult the dealer upon startup and anytime I put the car in reverse. I have put the car in the appropriate gear with the parking brake on and I put my ear up to each sensor and I do not hear any clicking sound coming from any of the sensors. My thought is possibly maybe the park assist module needs to be replaced? Can someone point me in the direction to where that module is in the car? I looked by the passenger kick panel and also the trunk area and I have not found it.

Any help is appreciated, thank you

On the tpms do you get any text description on the digital info display? Errors could include check tyre pressure (for a specific tyre), or tell you that a tire is unmonitored (faulty or missing tpms transmitter in a wheel) - can also say system fault. Would find why it's displaying the error and that will help diagnose

How is the battery? Fully charged? They are v sensitive to low voltage. Could also disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 30s and reconnect to reboot all the modules.

I get no description other than tpms system fault or whatever the generic fault for the tpms is. I'm going to plug in an OBD2 scanner tomorrow, not sure if that will give me any further info on what the cause is.

The battery has a solid charge, however the secondary auxiliary battery which I believe is only for start/stop function is low at only 10v while the car is off, I don't really care for the start stop feature anyways.

As for the park sensor issue, can someone point me in the direction to where the module is located?

Yes. Pull the codes is the right place to start.

The tpms module can fail - it's under the front right passenger seat. Have to unbolt the seat, lift up carpet and it's under a piece of duct work. Someone posted some good instructions on here a while back. Module is about $250. Simple plug and play. Newer part number so I think they have improved it somehow
I did it on mine. About 45 mins in total

But - just guessing that's the issue. Pull codes and eliminate some other issues first.

Okay after some quick research, I'm thinking that the P1118 code is referring to the MAP sensor, which sort of makes sense because I have noticed that the gas mileage seems lower than what it should be. My local autoparts store sells the replacement MAP sensor for around $130. Should i try to replace it and see if that does the trick? If so can someone point me in the direction of where the MAP sensor is located?

Here is a sensor layout for the 5.0L SC and I think yours is the same. Should be simple to see if it's in the same place. Pretty sure it is?

Can someone point me in the direction to the location of the park assist module on my 2015 XF? I looked behind the trim in the trunk on both sides and was not able to find it. Thank you

You might want to get the workshop manual. We don't have an XF one from what I can find. Usually at the top of the forum in the stickies they post one. I know in the XJ section we do.

Here is the system from a 2010 XF manual that I have not sure if they changed it for the 2015 or not.

See if it helps?

Thank you for all the help it is appreciated, just a little update:

I have resolved the TPMS issue, turns out both of the antennas for the front tires were plugged in but were just laying on top of the plastic covering behind the front bumper. I have secured them into there appropriate spots and TPMS light is gone.

I am however still trying to figure out the parking aid system fault. There is no noise coming from any sensors front or rear and there is no display of the backup camera when putting car in reverse. I have located the module in the trunk and I ordered a replacement from ebay. I will try to swap the module out and see if that does anything. I have already inspected the wiring in both bumpers and in the trunk loom harness, nothing looks out of place. So fingers crossed the new module does the trick.
