Philips DRL Install
Hey everyone, I have a 2010 XFR and want DRL's...I bought the Philips LED DayLight 8 strip - it comes as a package and seems easy enough for install. My question is -
The instructions mention that if you have auto on lights, there is something "custom" that needs to be done. With the one wire, sensor wire, that runs from the control box to the headlights.
I was thinking that because the battery is all the way in the boot/trunk I would wire to an existing spot in the main fuse box for power and ground it somewhere.
HAS ANYONE INSTALLED THEM - ANY ADVICE?

See my post below. I installed these exact DRL LEDs. Let me know if you need any add'l info, but to answer your specific question the wire that goes from the control box to the headlights you use the "one-touch connector" and connect it to your parking or headlights (i did parking but i think its whatever you prefer) so that when the parking/headlights come on the DRLs dim.

OK thanks...I don't have the blade/fake screens there -- my XFR has a functioning air intake there - plus the ACC on the left side in it. I am struggling with where to mount them too!!
I guess I don't need to worry about attaching the dim wire - just wire it up per instructions!

Not as ambitious as you but I did not want a large spread of light so installed the 4 LED one instead of the 8. This gives me the sharp and bright front light I wanted without trying to copy some other configuration so often seen everywhere. Phillips makes the brightest and most reliable daylight white lights out there. I floated the units to line up with the side blades and placed them on each side of the center grill….thus leaving room for a license plate (which I do not have). I think there is still enough room for an 8 LED unit this way.

Thanks - that is exactly exactly how I did mine. I didn't run the sensor to put them to 50% - I figured the more light the better at night anyway.
I have the ACC and was a little worried - as mounting them like that puts the left one directly in front of the ACC sensor...BUT NO WORRIES, it still works great.

Sorry to re-awaken this old thread but curious to know how the lights are placed on the under grill? Does it involve cutting? I also have the ACC and I dont want to effect it, i like where this guy has his, is there anything to be wary off?
