Power seats will not slide all the way forward
Hello all, first post here, did a quick search and didn't see this specifically but I may have missed it, anyway, here it goes.
I have a 2013 Jaguar XF and a very short wife. Took the car in for a brake job and when we got it back the seat was all the way back. Problem is it will only slide about half way forward now. Naturally she sits up very close to the wheel, and while I'm taller, it wont even get close enough for me to use comfortably now either. The seat seems to move fine forward/back/up/down etc... and does not struggle, bump or hum, it just stops going forward much sooner than it should.
Its probably some auto stop thing or something I'm sure, what is my best way to reset/correct?
Thanks for any help!

Be sure and check to make sure nothing is in the seat tracks (rails). It may just be something that has fallen in and obstructing the travel.
See if the seat is loose, meaning you can wiggle it by grabbing the seat back. The screws holding the tracks may not be tight and causing the obstruction.
Both are simple, non-auto shop things. Always check the easy stuff first if you haven't already. Can't think of another reason for stopping too soon. My XK had a screw rod that controlled travel and it is likely the XF does as well.

There's lots of information on seat faults in the Workshop Manual.
Going through it confirms that seat travel is controlled by Hall Effect Sensors. These are known to be prone to faults from physical damage or even just getting dirty.
One of the first tests, before having to resort to a scantool to check for error codes is 'stall detection':

Try this technique and see if you can get the seat to inch forwards.
