Default Pulley changing Fun!

After being run down every time by Kaynite at the track, and a $50 pulleys offer from Eurocharged, the pulley change on my XFR was just too good to pass up, Not a hard job going slow with the right tools, and following the instructions to the letter, but I still managed to leave a burr on the SC shaft. Can you say Lets do it again? Glass 1/2 full it only took me 20 min to cut the new one (ALLOY) off, compared to 2 days working to get the factory one (STEEL) off..lol

So does that mean you're waiting on the new one and Higgins is stuck in the garage? If so, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you get the new one soon.

I don't mind being garaged, weather was lousy anyways, spent most of the weekend chasing the GF around the house so all was good..LOL

Pulley is done and I LOVE the results. Car gets into boost much earlier. And with the right tools and by following the instructions to the letter made this one of the best mods around.

Little late to take advantage on the sale but is there Any difference between their pulley and the Mina gallery? It's still almost half the price and I was getting ready to order one from Mina tonight... Thanks

I can't speak on the Mina pulley other than I know Mina is quite proud of equipment they carry that I have ordered from EBay at 1/2 Minas price. Eurocharger does ALOT of highline tuning, their customer service is great and I'm happy with my pulley and have no problem recommending the $50 Eurocharger pulley

Got mine today too!

Now I just have to find some time to set up an install appointment somewhere and start my before and after dyno runs.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that your pulley and the pulley currently installed on Kyanite's car are both gold in color. Somehow I got a black one!

That's just in the way I heated mine first in the oven but it started out black. If you want it gold just bake it at 400 for an hour or so.

I completely forgot about that! When it was installed it turned gold, started out black.

Where did you get the correct pulley removal tool?

Thanks!

I cut mine off with an cutoff wheel and a dremel. Not hard but you need to go slow.

Did you find that baking at 400 worked well to just slip it on?

Doing this next week....

Yup, I swapped one on for a 5L guy a few months ago. Baking it works great. You have to make sure you get it on there quickly before it cools off. It has to be all the way on so the end is flush with the shaft end.

I also cut it off with an angle grinder. Be careful not to cut into the snout of the supercharger. Only the end of the pulley is attached to the shaft so if you cut too far in on the pulley you can cut into the end of the supercharger snout/bearing. Take it easy when you get toward the shaft. You don't want to cut into the shaft. You'll likely nick it no matter what. Use some fine sand paper to clean off the shaft before installing the new one.
