Default Question for other actual XF owners

How do you feel about the job Jaguar has done with paint matching of the bumpers and side vents to the rest of the car? My color is Lunar Grey and I'm only luke warm about the color match. I realize that it's difficult to match colors on plastic versus metal, however, I feel that they could have done a better job, at least on my particular color. Certain colors do look better than others. I'm just curious as to what other actual XF owners think.

I purchased it new. It's not a big difference, I'm just a perfectionist, so the slightest stands out. I can actually look at pics of other jags online and notice a difference between bumper to body. It's just me.

Buying new doesn't rule out a repaint either at the factory or the dealer. My new car had a deep scratch in the bumper that I discovered after delivery. It had been painted over and while the dealer offered no insight into the source of the scratch they did repaint the bumper. Car is black and even with the repaint it matches the rest of the car. But, metalic paints can be difficult to match even when the paint is the exact color.

Yes I agree that buying new doesn't mean anything. However, I don't believe the bumpers or vents have been repainted. I've actually had the front bumper off of the car when I installed the drl blades and there was no evidence of it being painted. That is something that I can pick up on right away. Like I said it's not a big mismatch, I'm just saying that you can notice the difference in paint on different surfaces. Doesn't mean I don't love the car, I was just making an observation that I've noticed on my car and other XF's when I've visited the dealership. Mainly the 09 Lunar Grey ones that I see on the lot.

I have seen this before on other vehicles, where the plastic parts (side skirts, rear valance) give off slightly different color than the rest of the car due to the material.
So it's not unusual.

I've got a 2012 in Cashmere and all looks well to me.

That said however, but not Jaguars, I've seen some dreadful bumper to body colour matches, even when new. But it seems to me the cheaper the car, the more likey that the difference is more pronounced.
