Default Replacing my XF-R wheels with carbon fiber blades wheels

Hey guys

I’ve been driving a 2013 XFR which came with 20” wheels. my car is not equipped with tire pressure monitoring system and when the tire loses air I would not find about it until it’s very low and too late.I ended up damaging new tires because I wouldn’t know until the tire is ruined Now after many years of driving and hitting puddles and bumps on the road, I have to check the tire pressure on regular basis and most of the time I find them going low

I’m thinking about replacing the wheels and tires with a new set of Carbon Fiber blades ones. The dealership is offering a set of 4 wheels and tires mounted and installed for SAR 18,000 ($ 4,800)

If I want to replace the tires it’d cost 1800 but I’m afraid that the problem is with wheels being dented from different angles and that’s why they are loosing losing air and damaging the new tires

do you guys think it’s a good deal?

I hit a puddle and this happened

Original color of the stock wheels then after complete black out and then tire stickers trial

This is how it looks now

The deals for $4800 on a set of 4 and 4 tiers

Unfortunately the 20inch wheels bend easily. You prob have a crack on the inner edge if it's leaking air. Usually repairable but yours look pretty beat up so you may be better starting with new wheels
But that's a lot for wheels. Oem wheels are expensive. I replaced mine with Rohana aftermarket wheels (20inch) and the set was well under half of that price. Lots of other options too. I'd only go jag if you really like the style of the blades as you are paying a premium.

Those wheels cost more than my whole car is worth.

They intentionally left off the TPMS from the cars destined for living in the desert heat, you don't want it.

No matter what 20 inchers you choose, you will have the same problem. I downgraded to 18 inches as soon as I could, all 4 of my Volans were bent beyond repair. As a bonus, the used XJ wheels plus brand new rubber cost equal to single rear 20" tire. Street handling is unchanged and way more quiet and comfortable ride. Only now my car doesn't look as cool, and from what I read the guys that stay with the big wheels just accept repairing the wheel dents over and over as part of owning their cool car.

And last thing, if you are losing air from random slow leaks, have the tire shop replace the valve stems. If you tip them you might hear a hiss, just had that happen.

Downsizing would definitely help. But the XFR that the OP has the big brakes that 18 inch wheels typically don't fit. And most 19s don't fit either. So if you want to downsize check carefully that they can clear the front 380mm brakes...

Too bad the black Dracos look awesome on your car. I just had my Dracos refurbished and powdercoated black too. Like someone else above said check out some of the aftermarket....Rohana does make some really great looking wheels. Refurbishing isn't an option?

Good luck.

Any idea why no TPMS in desert countries?

I have Forged factory Farallon 20" rims and have never had a problem in spite of several very large pot hole impacts.

I don't know if any other stock Jaguar rims are forged or not. I have heard there are several others out there.

I take this pic but forgot to post it, proof that an OEM 18" can fit over the 2008-2009 supercharged/sport package brakes. Still about a BIC pen worth of clearance to the caliper. Not every 18" will fit, just some trial and error for cheap tires and much better ride if somebody wants to go that route.

Yes, the 18" Jag wheels will just fit over the calipers on the 355 mm front brakes that came on the early XF SC with the 4.2 litre V8 but they most definitely do NOT fit over the 380 mm front brake calipers in question that came on the 2009 on XFR with the 5.0 litre V8.
