so today I misspoke while trying to dial a number through the stored names on my 09 XF SC.

I said "Phone Dial Handset Name". All of a sudden, Siri on my iPhone activated. I then called out a Siri command and it responded through the car's speakers. I tried it over and over again and it worked every time.

Try the command "Phone Dial Handset Name" and see if it works for you.

I have an iPhone 5.

 

i use Siri all the time in my 2010 XFR. just hold down the home button and talk the command. It's perfect for dialing from my phonebook, checking weather, stocks, time in foreign countries and all those things Siri can do.

I mentioned this in an earlier post. Was hoping to make it play music through the bluetooth but unfortunately after telling Siri to play a song it just plays from the iphone and not through bluetooth. Either way it works good to call or text people in your phone. Problem is it wont read a text you receive. Still not a bad use what using the voice command for calling.

I stumbled on to this by mistake too. Voice recognition is now useful.
