Default Strut mount replacement...

Im gonna tackle replacing my strut mounts ..Any tricks or advice anyone can share ? Couldn't find any write ups on here about anyone changing theirs...thanks

Yes when doing the upper strut mounts remove the sway bar end links so you are not fighting the sway bar when you pry down on the suspension. I did not and it's a LOT harder to do when they are attached. You can do it but I used a 6' pry bar to get enough leverage.

How long did it take you per side ? Just trying to get an idea of how long it should take ..I searched all over the Internet and couldn't find a video or write up on a xfr ..and I wasn't sure if the xfr suspension is different from a regular xf ...But thanks for the tip

XFR same as XF. It's a couple of hours depending on the car. I live in a non-salt area and that makes all the difference in the world when working under a car! If rusty all bets are off.
Are you going to DIY the repair? If so look over the car as it might be better to combine several repairs while you have things apart.
Again we need car info with miles to know what we are talking about.

It's a 2012 xfr with 52k on it ..it was a 1 owner from Cali. ..he had all repairs done at jag dealership ,so it seems like it was well looked after ..

You shouldn't need to mess with sway bar links if both top mounts are unbolted and come down together.

I guess I'm going to replace the upper control arms also..Anybody have any recommendations of what brands to use for upper control arms and strut mounts ?
