Default swap 3.0 with 5.0 in 2013 AWD

Blown 3.0 engine in a 2013 xf 3.0 awd.
my question is will a 5.0 fit into this AWD co figuration ?
i figure since i’m screwed on warranty i might as well make it interesting by swapping in something unique like a 5.0 as it fits into the f type AWD.....any ideas?

thanks.

i believe the 3.0 block to be same overall dimension as 5.0 block. they just forego drilling the rear most 2 holes.. that's the ''good news''

reality is you likely have to spend more than the vlaue of the car to do so and make it work.. maybe a ls swap cheaper and more hp potential? heresy?

Plus there is no AWD version of the 5.0 (and there must be some reason for that) so try'n to create one is guaranteed to be trouble.
Best to shop for a replacement 3.0, but as said above, even that will be more $ than the car is worth.
Jaguars, cheap to buy used, expensive to maintain, impossible to sell...

My engine blew up a few months back as well, same year, same model. What happened to yours? I ended up swapping it with a 3.0 from a 2015 XJ.

dealer has a 3.0 long block for 18k plus a 5 k rebate for a core
i have no choice as the car is mint everywhere else and not worth scraping..... i just though a 5.0 AWD would be a nice ride....i’ll have to settle for the 6
nice idea on a LS engine as the tranny will fit with an adaptor.
still it’s a ton of work.....never hurts to look into options

There is somebody here who had his 4.0L V8 rebuilt for five grand at an independent Jaguar shop. Maybe get another estimate from such a place.

Default still looking for options

looks like a 3.0 long block costs the same as a 5.0 so back to my original idea of putting in a 5.0 then it’s AWD (like the f type) ..question...what else would i need to make this work ie) electrics, ecu, cooling etc...any helpful input would be welcome...

You will be better off getting another car. What would a 2013 AWD XF cost you?
The lower end is in the $18K range.

Any idea why the motor went out?
Low oil?

Often hard to get the whole truth. Ask any mechanic for their stories of customers saying, "I dunno, it just broke down all by itself," and then the mechanic finding out on their own that the owner forgot some very important details!

I know this is an older thread, but has anyone successfully pulled off a 5.0SC AWD XJ? My 3.0 just went belly up and long blocks seem to be very similarly priced.

What is huge about it though? Beyond physically swapping the engine, what else changes beyond coding?
