Default Updating my XF grey interior. Suggestions.

I'm getting a bit tired of my interior in my 2010 XF. I believe it's called dove grey. It has black carpet and dash top but everything else is a pale grey. I've used a Vinyl and fabric spray paint to refinish pieces in my XK8 and its holding up really well.
So my idea is to do the door panels. I'd leave the grey lower pocket panel and leather hand hold but spray everything else the flat black (which has a sheen actually.) of course leaving stainless and wood. I just want to kill some of the grey. I also thought about doing the center console and lower dash pieces as well, leaving the leather center cover.
The most important thing I've found with this paint is prep. I'd have to clean relentlessly to make sure there wasn't any sprays or anything on the surface.

Understandable that you don't want to trade. Since you have experience with the paint it doesn't seem too risky, but will it look oem? Maybe if you post some photos you'll get some different suggestions. A photoshop rendering might help if someone can accommodate doing the work.

You've already done enough customization that the next owner will probably overlook the changes as long as it looks right and the quality doesn't make it look obvious. It's your car. If you like it, do it!

If the paint has a some sheen I think it would look better than flat black. Kyanite makes a good point, but there's no undoing it without replacing the panels or I suppose you can repaint.

I'm not sure why they call it flat. It actually has a leather sheen when it's dry. As I said, I used it in my XK8 to refinish a few interior pieces and even paint an oatmeal piece to match. (Painted my headliner and on the convertible top too, still looks amazing!) It's really durable and bonds really well. It's all about the prep. The panels must be free of any cleaners and oils, dash wipes and such. 3-4 light coats and cure in the hot sun an hour or two and it on for good.

I guess some of you may not know the extent I customize my cars!! Just check out my XK8! Lol. And as for the next owner (if there is one) I could give two hoots what they think. Most of the cars I've had and sold I've customized extensively and gotten higher than resale value. Just takes the right person.

I'm going to mock up a few pictures to see how it looks first.

There is nothing like previous experience to inspire confidence in results. Post finished photos for sure.
