You have the old style plastic piping with the fat square seams. This has all been updated with plastic pipes that are smooth seamed.
These will all fail so run them at your own risk.
It looks like someone may have been in there before and replaced something because that dead end grey nipple is an updated part. There are a number of plastic cooling pipes that need to be swapped out because of these poor quality seams. Don't forget the rear water manifold as it will also fail.

I think I found it ... BTW, this is the piece I kept telling my husband not to lean on when we were doing the work, not that it's his fault of course.
But seems like I have to get another husband or get another car, the thought of either makes me .... LOL.
You could but age makes all that plastic brittle so just the engine movement is sometimes enough to break those air intake tubes. They also can rub against something and get a hole worn into them to.

I've finished sourcing parts for replacing all plastic coolant hoses/pipes on 13 XF 3.0 63K miles, below are the replacement parts, any input would be helpful:

I didn’t see an answer to the question, is it a recommended that the H20 pump be replaced now?
