Default WIL 5.0SC TB work with 4.2SC engine

I have seen here some ex Jag enginiers. Question is will throthle body from 5.0SC wll work in 4.2SC system? I dapting complete 5.0SC supercharger and intake to 4.2sc engine.

By working I mean will it function wel without throwing errors and will it have more or les similar opening (I thin exact air amount enetring engine is carefully measured and engine ecu readjust fuel) Both plugs of TB looks identical, manufacturer is the same. I would like to avoid using 4.2sc smaller TB with diferent cooling lines on to 5.0SC supercharger intake manifold. if 5.0SC would work that would be perfect.

thanks a million.

I suspect the throttle motor drive signals and sensors are different between the 4.2 and the 5.0. If you want to use it I'd work at disassembling the two and swapping the electronics (motor, TPS) from the 4.2 throttle onto the 5.0 - if that's even possible to do, which I wouldn't know without trying. Not sure what you're trying to achieve but if it's just using the larger 5.0 throttle inlet size I'd say that'd be the best way to do it.

4.2 throttle

5.0 throttle

Hi Dave, many thanks for you input. Ias there is way to test TB without runing engine, i take your suspicion as true. disasembling and swaping internals was my second idea.
I'm trying to do this(complete xfr charger/coolers/intake system on to 4.2sc engine) https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...engine-223009/

another question which remains unclear is vacum driven bypass valve . i bought valcum not electronic version, but are the vacums similar between those two engines? as I understand when vacum is small (idle) it opens valve(letting air pressure escape) and when bigger closes it.

all other things is a matter of technical job(which is hughe anyway)
thanks again for you help.

forget to say why i need this- 1) mounting 2),size 3)inlet isize is different between those, and at least ttwo adapters need to be made- one TB to charger, other Tb to inlet -i plan use all xfr inlets) . extra problem also cooling lines of 4.2sc TB is exactly where it should net be on to TVS charger system.
so using 5.0TB or at least its body internals leaving 4.2sc) I would solve 3 problems at once.
