Default XF and XJ Supercharged engine intake?

I'm gauging interest in a XF and XJ Supercharged engine intake group buy? The stock dual entry intake is plastic and prone to cracking, with friction welded on mount that just snaps off. I've spoke to Chris at Fluidmotion and with a group order of 10 he can do his for $500. That might seem a bit pricey, but know a new plastic one from Jag is $380.
Bump the thread if your interested.

The all aluminum one shown is a forum members friend. It was painted black and was a custom one off. They don't have the mold, and I want to say it was around $700. I personally have the TCP intake and have no complaints.

Yep that's what Fluid motion told me. I'm going with the TCP as these engines are begging for more AIR!

Stopped by his house today, gonna look at ordering material tomorrow. Might be a couple weeks before he can get to because of how busy he is. Part of it is because if he just does it on the side for me cost will be cut in half because he won't have to charge me shop rates. I'll keep updates coming on this thread tho as things move along

Will this intake or the TCP intake fit a 2013 3.0 SC?

The 5.0L TCP intake should be ready to ship in a few weeks. The prototype kit was finished and has been on a customer car for a while now.

Any idea how they handled the vacuum lines? Looks like from the pics on their website they both attach to the silicone?

One coupler has a custom machined aluminum fitting already on it. It's basically a very small section of piping with a threaded bung inside the coupler. There are threads on the inside and outside of the bung. The bung sticks through a hole in the coupler. A rubber gasket, machined/contoured spacer, and nut seal it to the coupler. That fitting accepts NPT to barb fitting supplied with the intake. It is a very nice setup. It's much better than a barb stuffed into silicone.

It's the same on the 4.2L SC intake.

I hear that TCP is now selling the 5L Supercharged/XFR intake. Contact them if you are interested. They sent out this picture of the final design to those that asked about ordering. They will probably update the site with the new info soon. I think it turned out great.

Did we get an idea of costs on the TCP intake? I saw some numbers thrown around but I don't think anything final.

$700 is a laughable no, but half that would be reasonable for a quality euro aftermarket part
