Default XFR Supercharger porting..surprised!

So I had to replace the plastic crossover tube behind the heads on my 2010 XFR. When I got the S/C off I decided to have it ported. I sent it to Kong Performance for the cnc port. Had to replace the snout shaft, and Greg Kong got with griptec to get me the correct pulley setup.
In full disclosure I had a 2.38 upper and stepped to a 2.35.(.03 difference) before rotor RPM was 18,279.2. Now it is 18,512.55. An increase of 233rpm (Yes outside eaton efficiency range, however I have additional cooling and it has great IATs) my car dyno'ed at 591.5 RWHP before the port. I collect data on the car constantly. So far it appears as a 3 lb increase in boost and the data load appears to have at least 50hp. and man you can feel it. (Although I suspect 30-35hp would be a more reasonable number) I was very skeptical upfront...but I would do it again. They tighten the end tolerances as well so to minimize the "gap" where air can escape. I hope to dyno it again very soon at the same dyno. No other changes other that what's listed above. May be that mine was not in the greatest shape to begin with, but 14lbs was my max boost before. When I dyno it, I will update the results. It seems.a but pricey upfront... but ask yourself how much would you pay for 30hp? 40? 50?. On the 5.0 S/C we are very limited..no cams..intakes...throttle bodies...etc. , so we have to maximize HP where we can find it! Great Job Kong Performance!

Also the gains were verified by Dragy trap speed gains. Have traction issues but gained mph.
0-130 in 12.78 (no 1 ft roll) 13.23 was my best ever before.
60-130 tested at 8.56 was 8.93
My 1/4 trap speed raised went to 125.43... best ever before was 122.49

Once the tracks open back up. Best so far was 7.47 in the 1/8mile. Haven't gotten it to a 1/4 mile track yet. Nearest is over 2.5hrs away.
I do have some.pretty bad traction issues even though I'm running Nitto555R2 305/30/20. So street times.are questionable but trap speeds tell the tale. Best so far before port was 11.65 @ 122 1.83 60ft time
(which 121-122 is where it stays) after port (while.spinning) was 11.96 @125.43 with a 2.22 60ft time. Car weighs 4520 with me.and 1/2 tank.of gas. 93 octane.

😄😄😄 That's the way it rolls most times lol. I contemplated long and hard, but I figured if I didn't I would always have wished I had. So now if I ever get an F type R, I know what I'm going to do to get that AWD baby motivated lol

Well, I've cleaned and completely rebuilt it (all new bearings, coupler, oil, etc.), but haven't reinstalled it yet. Hmmm... What was the turnaround time?

My turnaround was a bit different as we were searching for a correct pulley collar since I use Griptec. Had to replace a shaft for snout rebuild. They say 7 to 10 business days. If you use Kongperform@gmail.com, you can send Greg a message in advance and get everything lined up.
if you do let him know you chatted with me and I had nothing but accolades for it. I don't get anything but I do like to heap praise when somone does a good job on my stuff.

I spoke with Greg a few months ago or so. My SC is actually at SCOL right now, getting my GripTec 2.40" pulley installed (I actually went up from the Mina 2.38" because of my new 181mm Mina crank pulley). It was said to be a custom job by Andrew Zimmer (president of ZPE GripTec), so he wanted me to send it to SCOL to make sure fitment was perfect, etc. Did you also consider porting your TB to match?

I have roughly polished my TB. I looked into getting it bored but I have ran out of leads. No one I've found messes with the Jag TBs anymore.
i looked at going with an even bigger lower than i have (170mm) but im probably good on boost for now. Lol. Id like to keep head gaskets on it. Thats the issue with these engines, there is not a ton of info on what we can get by with like there is for Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge.

Nice! I saw similar gains on my boost gauge tapped at the charcooler lid after I did a DIY port, but that's all I've got to go on, no before/after Dynos etc, so I'm very interested to see your results.

Always in support of more businesses catering to tuning this engine, it has more to give

I'd love to get some reasonable headers, 3 in exhaust and a TB. Then I would consider increasing boost some.more lol

I'm pretty sure I picked up some massive extra herspers last night. Found out tonight that I must've had a few drinks last night and drew a horrible lion face on my rad fan while reinstalling. I guess the outer scribble is the mane? Whatever - it'll obviously spin way faster, now.

I think its worth it if you need to get your SC replaced/repaired.

I rebuilt my 3.0 SC and had it ported (Stegmeir Porting) Added the VAP griptec pulley and the car actually leaps now (can;t really explain teh feeling like its going to lift off all four tires, minimal wheelspin

Guy in a SRT8 was tailgating me pretty effing close on the highway and when he had a chance went to my right to try to pass, the pussycat was not having it. I di d not pull him much tho. He was pissed, way pissed. I am sure he saw the obvi 3.0 on the lid when he was gating me...

I figure he woudl be 475HP, 4500 and I am at ??HP and 3800... Shoudl hav pulled him more, but I have yet to get her completely tight

Gonna dyno after I finish a few more fixes
