Default 1646, 02 chip, misfires 1 through 7

I have been chasing down faults all week and everyone I fix I get 2 more. I had lean bank errors and found a bad hose connection just past the Maf sensor then I had a 0333 knock sensor error. I removed the sensors and couldn't see how they could go bad so I cleaned up the base for a better electrical contact and that seems to have solved that issue. I do have a new knock sensor waiting for me to pick up tomorrow. Now I am getting engine missfires from all but number 8 cyl. and it feels like they are all missing. I still get a 1646 linear o2 chip bank 1 fault , a 1313 cat damage fault and a 1316 missfire exceeds fault. Where is the o2 sensor bank 1, do I get it from the top or bottom of the car? Is it the first or second sensor?Great car but these little issues are getting me down.

I have read all the posts and have found usefull information. I did swap the wires around on the o2 sensor and the fault moved to the other bank. I friend lent me an o2 sensor but it still shows a fault. I will install the knock sensor today along with new plugs. If in doubt start fresh and get rid of as many possibilities as possible.
. I have a 2000 xj8 vandenplas. 320,000 Km. Love the car but it is starting to show it's age. Did a 5000 km road trip last summer with barely a burp out of her. Rust is getting bad so I think I will start searching for another.

I downloaded the repair manual and installed the new spark plugs. The engine started and ran nice for a minute then went back to hesitation and stuttering. I will try new coils and see if that helps. Any more ideas?

Read the codes. I don't see how you can do it any other way?
Are you getting less of them?

I keep reading codes and they keep changing. I test drive the car and all is well and the next time more codes come up.

Read the documentation and see why (hint: 2 trip).

At least fix the ones you keep getting but do see my 1st reply.
