Default 2014 XJ Supercharged Touch Screen Rubber Surround

After cleaning the sticky surfaces of the rubber surround for the touch screen yet again with alcohol, I am wondering if anyone can provide the part number for the rubber surround?

Is there an aftermarket replacement that uses hard plastic or a different rubber?

Before replacing that bezel, I'd remove it and spray the rubber sections with matte black Plasti Dip. It's a small fraction of the cost of a new bezel and may work.

Have you tried it, and can you show some photos of the repair?

XJsss;

I found a listing for a C2D45454, but it said fitment was for a 2017.

That listing lead me to another listing for an LKQ AW93-044B88AF, which appears correct in the photo.

No, I haven't but it's what I would try first. From what I've read, Plasti Dip is inexpensive, available in matte black, sprays on, and it's easy to peel off if you don't like it. It's much cheaper than replacing the bezel.

If Plasti Dip doesn't work, I'd try matte black vinyl wrap.

There are lots of "How To" videos on YouTube for both Plasti Dip and vinyl wrap.

Anyone with the larger screen installed? Does that surround experience the same issue? Since the larger screen still fits in the same size space, I assume that the two side pieces are smaller and hopefully made with a different material?

It is my understanding that the sticky button issue was resolved in 2014 models and on as the suppliers changed the finish to the a non "rubbeerized" surface.

The aftermarket big Android screen surround is made in china and is just shiny black plastic with no soft touch surface. So nothing to get sticky.

Yes my 2014 also had sticky buttons that were cleaned with the Neutrogena wipes. But it takes a lot of rubbing!
