Default Alignment

I have a 2012 XJL Portfolio. 5.0, non supercharged. It is time to replace the tires, and I want to get a 4 wheel alignment. Can any reputable shop do the alignment, or does it require special knowledge or tools? Is it something that only the dealer can successfully handle? Thank you!

Any shop can do it if they keep the weight on the tires during alignment. Most alignment shops do it this way anyway.

If they try to do it without the weight remaining on the tires the car has to be put in alignment stance using the Jaguar software.

aquifer, if I remember things correctly, the jaguar procedure also requires that a 160 pound weight be put in the driver's seat (footwell or on the seat) to simulate the driver being in the car. While this does not dramatically alter the alignment, this is what jaguar recommends. I can't think of any local shop that does this sort of thing. But, watch what your car does when you have someone jump in the driver's seat. You will see it settle about a half inch or so and this has a slight affect on the alignment.

My alignment shop (a very good local independent) asked me how it's normally loaded, so they could put the right weights in the car.
