If you think it's a bad switch that's just dirty, try some CAIG Deoxit on it before replacing it.

Clean it three times waiting about 12 hours between applications. Exercise it about twenty times after spraying.
Than finally spray in CAIG Shield to replace the lubes removed by Deoxit.

You'll have to source it locally but it's the best in the business although a little expensive for some. It'll work on scratchy volume pots too.
