I bought display climate control panel from aliexpress and I received it 2 weeks ago. Easy to install and good to use. It allows you to easily set the temperature, wind speed and seat heating/cooling settings.
It has very important problem with my Jag. Rear seat control does not work. I think the problem with the firmware. Our HVAC Panel had a "big" software update at 2016. That's why if we install a 2015 panel on a 2016, some features will not be available. My firmware is ZF-2015 V106. I'm guessing it is the firmware for pre-facelift models. By any chance, does anyone use the same product? The seller is not answering my question, now
If anybody has new firmware or other informations, please share with me.
Hey I just bought 1 of these units & if your problem haven't been solved with the rear seat controls try this:
Go to the settings screen like in the photo you have posted above & then press & hold on the version for a few seconds & it should take you to a hidden menu... where you can then make changes to the system ..
See if that work out for u

The bigger problem which is invisible right now is do those units provide cooling for the back of the module?
The original Merryway units like the one I have require you to install 2 PCB's from the factory head unit into the upgraded Android head unit. These 2 boards allow the factory instrument cooling fan system to operate.
Without this cooling system the aftermarket units will fail from over heating. You also are causing a lot of heat stress to the main instrument panel as it's cooled as well.
This is not talked about by the people promoting these after market screens.

I sincerely appreciate your interest.
Watch these video files, please. There are two problems. Of course I know hidden menu and I tried It has nothing to do with turning the feature on or off. I turned on all the necessary features for my jag.
First, the auto de-fog didn't work. (I switched to Chinese for sending to Chinese sellers.)
Second, rear seat climate control does not work well. In the display, I set it to Auto, but the Auto button does not light up and it is not pressed. The temperature control function is also unnatural.
I think this is a firmware issue. They seem to have made this panel as of 2015. The FL XJ's HVAC panels have different software. This issue can reproduced on XJ produced in 16, 17, and 18MY. (They are my friends) The seller is no longer responding to this issue.
Thank you very much.

Thanks!
There is no FAN module. But it doesn't seem like it would be a problem. Thanks for your advice. I'll take a good look!
The fan module is stock from Jaguar? It's not an add on ALL XJ's have them from the factory? The blower is located under the steering column.
Here is a very detailed description of the entire system and pictures of the components. This is a completely unknown part of the car and has never been discussed that I can find. There is a good bit on it in the service manual but that 8000+ page monstrosity is NOT easy to use!
Here is the thread where someone asked about it and I finally did enough research to come up with the answer. Instrument Panel Cooling Fan

Oh ok I see now... yes that most likely be a firmware issue... I see that all of these units at 1 point or another have lil glitches. My ac panel works perfectly for the most part. But the glitch I discovered mine has is that the hazard light stays illuminated all the time. No biggie though..
I have contacted the seller to see if it can be fixed.
these just replace the button controls below the main dash screen right, so shouldn't affect the functionality of being able to still control all the climate functions from the main dash screen as well?

any insights on this potential concern posted in the other forum
Among the issues with the compatibility is a serious one, in that the panel doesn't engage the cooling fan integrated in the dash, risking blowing /melting the AC unit by overheating and also wiping out the main screen above it as that will overheat too.
Not really EliteZags. This problem came to light by accident. I was helping a guy install a big screen in one thread and he said he has had 2 or 3 of them burn up already. He also noted the screen was hot/warm to touch. He wanted to know why this was happening. It took a lot of digging but I discovered the built in cooling system for the dash screens.
The ONLY solution is to use the factory cards like the Merryway unit does then the factory cooling system for the dash instruments AND the center stack will operate. On ALL the other big screens your NOT cooling the Android screen (and please note this part!) you have also lost the cooling for the instrument panel. It's just getting hotter and hotter as well as all the wear and tear high temperatures do to electronics.
