How to Remove Front Wheel Studs?
Skinny Pupoy, Were you able to get the stud out? I installed 10mm HR Racing spacers on my front wheels, 15mm on the rear. The fronts require extended studs, which I have not been able to install. About 2 of my studs on one wheel are stripped because the lug nuts barely have enough threads to hold on.
Does anyone know how to get the studs out? I tried hammering them out, but once unseated, they hit something in the rear, so they cannot be removed without removing something else. Does anyone know if there is a cutout or relief anywhere behind the front hub to allow for the removal of the studs?

Removing Front Wheel Studs
Greetings, I drive a 2016 XJ L Portfolio.
I tried hammering them out, but once unseated and almost out, they hit something in the rear, so they cannot be removed without removing something else. Does anyone know if there is a cutout or relief anywhere behind the front hub to allow for the removal of the studs?
I have my first service appointment on Monday, so it looks like I will have to remove the spacers since retorquing the lug nuts with an impact wrench will likely strip all the threads.

Hi Caribmon71,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
I have moved your posts from the forum for the X308 (XJ8 sedans 1997-2003) and merged them with your post in the forum for the X351, which is the Jaguar factory project code for your 2016 XJ. Here you will find knowledgeable members with similar cars.
Please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.
Cheers,
Don

Take care of your nuts!

It's OK for your Jaguar dealer to use an impact wrench to retorque the lug nuts because they have the proper metric size socket and torque spec. But never, ever let anyone else use an impact wrench on your lug nuts because they will bugger those nuts and it's very difficult, if not impossible, to remove a buggered lug nut unless you have the right tools.
Jaguar uses 2-piece lug nuts, a solid core with a shiny overlay cap. Using an impact wrench with a slightly too big socket and excessive torque will cause that overlay cap to strip and spin on the inner nut. The result - if you have a flat, you won't be able to remove a buggered lug nut with the factory hand tools.
A national tire chain's computer system shows the torque spec as 100 lb.-ft., which is incorrect. The proper torque spec is 92 lb.-ft. That excessive torque applied by an impact wrench and slightly oversize SAE socket will bugger the outer cap.
Lots of Jaguar owners have replaced the OEM 2-piece lug nuts with 1-piece lug nuts made by Gorilla (exact fit, but expensive) or Toyota (requires a different size socket, but costs less). Search for threads about this on this Forum.
