Lost ignition key to a 1970 xj6 how do i take the key switch out to make another one. Or find a locksmith for that kind of car

 

Just an FYI, you have posted in the sub-forum for the new models of XJ. If you want to know how to remove the ignition, you would probably do better by posting your question here:

That being said, I would suspect the dealer would be able to cut you a new key. If not you might want to try somewhere like this:

Thanks for the info. I finally got the whole assembly out. Tsking it to a locksmith tomorrow to if can use the serial number to make a copy. Or like u mention put a new tumbler or just get a whloe new unit
