Ladies and Gentleman: Re introducing the "Snowcat"
The tires are Nexen
245/30-22 front
295/25-22 rear
I really, really like the way the car drives now with the 22's, especially in dynamic mode.
The ride is crisp, tactile and firm. Previously, I had always thought the ride was floaty and soft with the oem wheels. Big bodies and high sidewalls are not a combo the bodes well for spirited driving. I bought these wheels with no anticipation of fixing the ride quality, it happens to be just a simple positive attribute that I was pleasantly gifted. Now the steering is even better. With the oem wheels, I used to find myself drifting within the lane unless I paid strict attention to where I was at the moment. It used to take too much attention in my opinion. I even wrote a previous post asking if anyone else felt this phenom in their cars. I guess "drift" would be the way I would categorize the feeling. There is a distinct difference with these wheels, the track seems to be more stable. I can take my hands off the wheel while on the freeway and the car now tracks in a straight line without float or drift.
I'm guessing there is a direct relationship between the weight of the car and the weight of the wheels in terms of ride quality.

That is very interesting as I found that going to XJR size tires (265/35ZR20 and 295/30ZR20) Michelin Pilot Super Sports made a similar improvement.

Awesome! Have you had a chance to see it in-motion (from the outside) yet. I didn't really appreciate my XJ until I saw the Mrs driving it. If you could get some in-motion pics that would be sweet. What color do you have planned for the calipers?
Based on what you're saying here, I now can assume it's the extra rubber on the road that allows the XJ to hold the track with more stability.
I would suggest all XJ owners to go with the widest tires that they can install on their never tire change if you have no interest in going with a bigger wheel. You WILL notice a significant difference in ride quality!

Red is the classic caliper color for sports cars and was my first "go to" choice but now having seen a white Panamerica recently with cobalt blue calipers and I thought it looked stunning. As a side note, my interior color is blue so I'm now wresting with my car having too much color, too many different colors, whether the caliper color and interior colors should coordinate, etc.
I'd be willing to hear you guys' opinions on the matter.
Here is a photoshop mock up

Love the pics. Maybe you should go in for White calipers if they make them? Not sure if I like the blue OR the red. With all the mods you have done, I like the pics in the first post the best...it keeps it classy and focuses the looks on the car and the rims, instead of drawing attention to the calipers.
After a moment to consider my options, I am going with the blue. I think blue will be more subtle as to not introduce an additional color to the car scheme
Agreeing with LaCapitalRue's comment about my red center caps clashing with the blue, Forgiato has agreed to swap my red caps for some neutral white ones with a black "F".
I'm confident that this will all tie together nicely with my blue interior.
Thanks for the input guys.

Lets just think about that for a minute LOL
Moot point, as the OP sold his XJ a while ago and is now in a 2015 Polaris White F-Type R. Note that his signature automatically changed for all of his old posts when he updated it to reflect his new car.
